After our Thanksgiving dinner, my Mom, Mark and I went to see a movie.  (A tradition that my mom started when we were kids.)  We usually see a Christmas movie, or whatever holiday movie that looks good.

This year we saw Fantastic Mr. Fox.  The movie is a stop motion animated film (like the old Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer…another family favorite) that really adds loads of character and charm.

The movie is based on the book, of the same name, by Roald Dahl.  Dahl also wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda and The Witches.

Ash, Mr. Fox, and Kylie

It is the story of one Mr. Fox and his wild-ways of hen heckling, turkey taking and cider sipping, nocturnal, instinctive adventures.  He has to put his wild days behind him and do what fathers do best: be responsible.  He is too rebellious.  He is too wild.  He is going to try “just one more raid” on the three nastiest, meanest farmers that are Boggis, Bunce and Bean.  It is a tale of crossing the line of family responsibilities and midnight adventure and the

friendships and awakenings of this country life that is inhabited by Fantastic Mr. Fox and his friends.

Ash (Top) with Kristofferson, his cousin. Kris is everything Ash is not: tall, well-spoken and a natural athlete

Mr. Fox, Ash, Kristofferson, and Kylie on a mission.

Boggis, Bunce and Bean (One's fat, one's short, one's lean)

The cast includes: George Clooney as Mr. Fox; Meryl Streep as Mrs. Fox; Jason Schwartzman as Ash (Mr. & Mrs. Fox’s son); Bill Murray as Badger; Willem Dafoe as Rat; and Owen Wilson as Coach Skip.
